Iqra means to recite. Quran means recitation.

Recite, in the name of Thy Lord who created,
Who created Man from congealed blood,
Recite, for thy Lord is the most noble,
Who taught man first by the pen,
What Man himself did not know ! 

Islam derives from salm and silm, submission and surrender and the Muslim is he who lives according to the Divine Will.

There are two types of Jihad

Al JIhad Al Asghar - fighting non believers
AL JIhad AL Akbar - fighting inner enemies !
