ശില്‍പ്പികള്‍ തീര്‍ത്ത കാളിദാസന്റെ കല്‍പ്രതിമയില്‍ മാലയിട്ടു

A creeper, Urvashi,
Put a garland of flowers
On the statue of Kalidasa !

ഋതു ദേവതയായ്‌ നൃത്തം വെച്ചു മുനികന്യകയായ്‌ പൂജിച്ചു ഹിമഗിരി പുത്രിയായ്‌ തപസ്സിരുന്നൂ അവള്‍ സ്വയംവരപ്പന്തലില്‍ ഒരുങ്ങി നിന്നൂ (ഉജ്ജയിനി)

She danced like the Deity of Seasons
She worshipped like a Rithvika
Meditating like Mother Parvathy
And confined herself to the nuptial hall !
 
അലിയും ശിലയുടെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നൂ കലയും കാലവും കുമ്പിട്ടൂ അവളുടെ മഞ്ജീരശിഞ്ജിതത്തില്‍ സൃഷ്ടി- സ്ഥിതിലയതാളങ്ങളൊതുങ്ങി നിന്നൂ (ഉജ്ജയിനി)

The Statue opened his eyes
Time & Art bowed reverentially
The Talas of Shrishti, Sthithi & Laya,
(Of  Creation, Preservation& Destruction)
Confined themselves to her persona !
 
യുഗകല്‍പനയുടെ കല്ലിനു പോലും യുവഗായികയുടെ ദാഹങ്ങള്‍
ഒരു പുനര്‍ജ്ജന്മത്തിന്‍ ചിറകു നല്‍കി അവര്‍ സ്വയം മറന്നങ്ങനെ പറന്നുയര്‍ന്നൂ (ഉജ്ജയിനി)

Even the Stone of Equinoctial Cycle , Yuga,
Could not quench her thirst !
Gave wings for another rebirth
And she soared into the heavens !
